Man, that sucks.

I generally try to avoid steel case ammo since it's been problematic in a few guns that I have shot. doesn't seem worth it to risk in any of them if they are built specifically to feed it. maybe one day Ill have a nice ak that will run on anything I toss at it. that gotta be some fun to just shoot until you don't want to anymore!

Done that shoot until it was no fun...........try 8mm Mausers and about 600 rds of ammo in a day. Sore, and that was when my body healed pretty quick LOL.

well its better than being locked up and made into a felon I figure so I won't complain.

they had some guy on the news some years back who got stopped and had his ak47 sitting on his back seat. they made a big deal of it but never once mentioned that it was perfectly legal. they never even said the guy was doing anything wrong. just that he got pulled over and had an ak47!

yup shooting all day... only thing I can afford to shoot all day is my 10/22 right now. i still think picking up a charger is a good idea. Im always regretting not snagging the one at the gun show for $200 when in to spare.

funny because when they talk about gun related matters they always have some stock gun footage from the early 90's showing a bunch of random guns. Most of this forum members could fill that same table up. that's not scary at all...

Re: the steel case ammo... I've even had problems with it IN the AK platform. Got a polish AK that gums up like crazy after about three mags worth. No problems with the brass cased stuff. Got 5k rounds of the steel cased stuff from J&G when I was up in Prescott one day. At the rate of 2 mags per shooting trip, it will literally last me forever.

Have you ever considered reloading? I've been doind it for about 15 years now and rarely buy commercial rifle ammo anymore. Something to consider maybe.

Almost forgot to add... Sitting on the porch right now smoking a JdN Serie "C" robusto. Mmmm...

I know I reload, and will eventually in 308. But right now I have a few cases of the mil-surp so I don't see any reason to.

I am glad the price of ammo is going down. 7.62x39 is cheap enough I am tempted to buy an AK or build an upper just for the cheap shooting.
