Haha, It is amazing to me how the body will get used to certain climates. Like when I was in the Aleutians it averaged around 50 on the high side. But when it got that hot or more, we were dying from the heat!

Ok, I may have missed this whole concept of the "Scandi" grind or just thought I knew what it was and paid no more attention to it. But wouldn't the REG be considered a Scandi grind, sometimes called a Sabre grind?

A scandi grind is more akin to a full flat grind than a saber , it only has one bevel, makes it easier to sharpen in the field, you just lay it on the bevel and go

Ok, just did a search. Seems the Scandi is nothing more that a Sabre grind that is sharpened as a flat grind, on the grind alone, never removing steel above the grind. Heck when I was younger that's how I sharpened ALL my knives that were sabre ground.

Looking forward to trying it, never used one before, I'll most likely to a little comparison with a couple of busse and kin blades

Yeah, supposed to be foolproof to sharpen cause you don't have to worry about angles, I've wanted a puukko style knife for awhile, just finally got around to getting one

I don't know how the rest of you all are, but that's how I look to see who is posting, buy looking at the avatars.
