I have heard you want to make noise in bear country, but I am not so sure of this. Seems like it may just make them curious and come in for a look see.

AND I'm not saying be in Ninja mode, just walk along like you normally would.

Oh hey, went fishing yesterday with a knife. Got about an 18 inch gar.

actually making noise is usually a good thing, many bear attacks are surprise encounters where bear and hiker round a corner on a trail and bang they meet. Bear bells or talking alerts a bear that you are there and they will generally move off the trail and let you pass

fishing with a knife
do tell

I thought might be the case but wasn't really sure. That's why I said to just walk along as normal, talking is normal unless you are alone. Then talking to yourself would make would make you turn out like me!

Hey, it's real easy. Just stand on the bank real near the water and when the guy you're with scoops the fish up in the net and tosses him on the bank, stick it in the head! hehe

you don't noodle

would you eat the gar

uh Negative North Star! To many snakes and snapping turtles in this neck of the woods for me.

NOPE, threw him back in the water for proper disposal. (see my above post)

what knife did you use
