Could be were you growing them outdoors?

Maybe after couple of years, when we get our new house. I don´t have enough room for a greenhouse. The finnsh climate is not actually ideal for growing chili peppers. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Is that chipotle chili then?!? Do you eat them right from the grill or do you use them as a spice?

Btw Randy I saved your chili recipe but I haven´t tried that out yet.

I know people that cut Green Chilis (Thats what the locals call them which is funny because most peppers are green) in strips and sautee them and serve them on steak like you would mushrooms.

Or chop them up and make sauces for enchiladas or other mexican food.

So we use them freah or frozen. You can use chipotles ground up because they wer dried. You can also buy our native chiles ground up and dried I use this in my burgers all the time.

I know what you mean Timo. I love to grow aloes and sansevierias and you would think living in the desert at 4000+ feet would be a great place for succulents. But this is a very harsh desert and not like the ones in the south african veld (I also love madigascan plants) where many of my plants come frome so I have to ride the fine line of my plants getting leggy because they don't have enough sun and burning them in our ever present sun. We don't have many clouds here and while the blue skys are beautiful and I can literally see hundreds of miles when I drive over the pass. It is a very harsh place. We get 10" inches of rain a year and it all comes in almost one month. If it wasn't for irrigation this place would be just another desert.

If it makes you feel better I've been accused of not speaking english on many occasions. I speak Texan mostly. Now that I moved to the border lands where Spanish and Spanglish are as common or more common than English. In truth when it comes to proper English you are probably better than me.

My chili is very easy. Ground beef, Mushrooms, Onions (we are using the dried chopped ones now, they are actually cheaper for us as they don't go bad on us)Chili beans (or kidney beans and I have even used even used red beans before). I think Cazio said he uses black beans. Anyway, I use tomato sauce not tomato juice as I like my chili thicker. And I usually use just a hint of garlic. So

1. Ground beef (2 pounds at least)
2. Two cans(or 3) chili beans, juice and all
3. 12 to 15 ounces of canned mushrooms (drained of the juice)
4. Chopped dried onions, or 1 whole medium size fresh onion chopped
5. Chili powder to taste
6. Garlic powder or salt if you like

*** I like to add a can of corned beef(but you could add more). Gives it an additional texture and slightly alters the taste and makes it just a little more tasty in my opinion.

I bring mine to a boil and immediately lower it to a simmer for AT LEAST 30 minutes but I like to let go for an hour.

What I meant to say is i have the opposite problem. To much sunlight. I am rambling guys so I'm going to beat feet for bed.

Jason, Yup sure am. That's why so many gaps in my posting. Gotta make the donuts! I have one more after tonight then I am on a weeks vacation. We MIGHT get a chance to go to a place called "Land between the lakes" about 100 miles away over in Kentucky.
