Well if Randy comes on tonight I will give him a story to ponder.
First some background here.

I have known my wife's family since elementary school, in fact her one brother and I were best friends in grade 3.

My wife's older brother is suppose to be a physic and he does have a large clientele

My wife's mother was also suppose to be a physic and their family was suppose to have a poltergeist that followed them house to house since the 1960's.

A couple of years ago when I was talking to him about the family poltergeist I asked him why in over 30 years of knowing them. I had never seen or heard anything remotely supernatural. It always seemed the activity happened before I arrived or after I left.

His answer was that there are strong psychics out there that were either scared by something they saw when young (of course) or for other reasons refused to acknowledge the spiritual and instead used their physic ability unconsciously to prevent spiritual activity from happening around them.
He said I was one of those dampeners, I told he was full of manure

My youngest daughter is suppose to be gifted and she sees things.
Last summer my 2 daughters went for a walk and my youngest was very concerned that an entity followed them home from the graveyard they walked past
She could not describe it except as a dark humanoid shape that was not nice.
Over the next few months both my daughters had some disturbing events happen at home.
My youngest daughter in particular was negatively affected.

One afternoon my wife and daughters went out and I tried an experiment.

I laid down on our couch and envisioned myself like the old RKO radio tower and sent out energy in all directions.
I mentally ordered all neutral and negative entities out of our house and invited all positive energy to say.

After I was done I puttered around for a while and then took a nap

While napping I was suddenly "awakened" when it felt like something was sitting on my chest and preventing me from moving.
I thought wow this is what sleep paralysis feels like, and I felt no fear just interest.
I couldn't move though so after a minute or so I decided to try an experiment.
I gathered my energy and "fought" against what was holding me down

Funny as it sounds but it felt like something was fighting back.
After some effort I was able to "banish" it.

I never said anything to anyone, about 2 weeks later I casually asked my daughter about the entity and she said it had not been around for awhile.
I told her if it Comes back let me know.

About 3 months later she tells me it has come back and it told her it really didn't like me.

That night I did the same thing, and later that same night I had a virtual repeat of the sleep paralysis.

Same result, after a couple of weeks when I asked my daughter, she said the entity had only been there the one day.
I told my family about my experiment and everything that had happened.

A few months later y daughter said it was back again and really angry.
I told her to tell it that I kicked it's a## twice aready and I would do it again if it didn't leave.

She has not seen it since.

Now I cannot explain it, I never saw an entity, and as far as I am concerned I had a couple of events of sleep paralysis that I brought on myself by convincing myself to do the experiment.

I am putting it out there and you guys can decide for yourself.
I found it to be a very interesting experiment

At this point in my life I sit in the middle of science and spiritual belief. On one side I am strongly scientific in my views and see religion as a way to define ourselves because we cannot explain our own existence. On the other side I have my "religious" belief of Chi or the "life force" maybe not a religion per-say but it makes sense to me. You could probably say I have a little Zen belief too because I meditate and believe in some of the philosophy. I don't devote myself to any of them or preach the philosophy, to me that is a personal and self selected choice.

I'm glad I sparked up some discussion of the spiritual realm. I practice any organized religion, and am very scientifically minded. that being said, I don't believe that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.

As scientific as I am, I definitely believe that there is a creator and that there is a spiritual realm.
