I saw this kit that came with a knife by another (Italian) maker with a bushcrafter knife. I finally found a review of the tin the kit comes in and here it is.

I originally posted this over on the DC thread but thought it would get more notice here under it's own thread.

I have a similar tin from Sweden. The brand is "Trangia", but it is not waterproof. I've thought about putting parafin on around the lid to H20proof the whole thing, but then just stuck it in a Ziplock Freezer Bag.

Here's a couple of pics of an unopened one....

I used one of these as a basis for my wife's "hiking kit". Its a handy way to organize little items.

So are these just the tins or is there kit inside of it?
As to sealing, why not duct tape around the edge?

Hi. I'm Izzy from Timbuk2 and Tippy Canoe. I recently switched over to the same container the poster below you listed. You can view the revised survival kit in the new "mess tin with handle" here...

Izzy, welcome to the yard from the ets site. Glad you dropped by from over at ets, you will find some of the best people here and some of the toughest knives on the market. Thanks for helping out.

Thanks Izzy, I've been here awhile, mostly just reading, few posts as usual for me just like I do on blade forum, equipped to survive, swamp rat and CF. I mostly stay in the shadows and try to learn as much as I can, if you ever need any info on knives, alloys, sharpening, edge retentions or what have you, these are the guys to talk with, the Busse knives are by far the toughest knives on the market bar none. Any how we appreciate you stopping by and feel free to stay of visit from time to time, you are always welcome. The yard is a very good group that watches out for each other and is my home forum that I check on, I don't say much but always stop by and learn.

Sumo - the tin I posted is empty from the factory. I can fit a surprising amount of stuff in one though.

Izzy - welcome!
