Has there ever been a Scrapyard knife that has shown up for sale as quickly and in as many numbers as the Scrapivore has? I am sure more are popping up just because it is one of the more affordable SY offerings (heck, cheapest one I have seen). Just kind of surprised me to see so many for sale so quickly (and at almost double the price).

I've seen several for sale now, too. I think it's interesting how quickly some have sold!

There are a couple elsewhere too that I have seen! They seem to be selling at those prices! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

But I guess it is what ever you are willing to spend for a great knife...I paid a little extra (THANKS to a certain Dog) for my 6.5 reg. but not nearly as much as I see them going for now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I have never hunted an animal, but Ill make an exception for Micheal Vick!

While I don't care for the quick markup on the secondary market, it's nice to know my Busse Kin knives will hold their value (well, except for when I sold my TT Reg). I did actually sell my DFLE for more than I paid so that I could get a Swamp Rat M9. I just prefer the micarta if I can get it!

I too have been surprised to see how many of the SVLE's have popped up for sale. Most look like they are selling in the 100-115 price range--not a lot of mark-up for a SY blade. With the economy the way it is I think this kind of knife and price allows many to get a Bussekin blade without breaking the bank.

Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

For a Limited Edition, it sold at a very affordable price. LEs are only offered one time, so there is some collector value.

I suspect that a lot of folks are trying to make a quick profit, in preparation for the Cupidganza. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

They will need to sell at least 20 of them to pay for just one of those Busse Custom Shop beauties!

At 110 IMO it's not much of a markup. They were what, 80 bucks? Plus shipping puts it probably close to 90. Plus shipping to whoever you send it to probably puts it close to 100, plus paypal fees of like 3%...at a 110 markup the people are probably netting 10-15 bucks profit max, if that. Not a lotta money for essentially buying a blade for someone else and giving them a crack at it after they missed it, all things considered. And some of the most limited stuff tends to skyrocket anyways.

Does anybody in the yard know how many were produced?
I've got a feeling we will see even more for sale in the coming months (from the ones actually needing a higher profit margin).

We'll never know how many were produced, there does seem to be a lot showing up on the exchange. You won't see mine on there though, it's a keeper! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
