Hey Dogs, I'm not sure if this has ever been asked but I thought it would be interesting to see what other Dogs like to listen to. I love music and play the drums. I also want to learn how to play another instrument and read sheet music...This may sound wierd but I either want to learn electric bass or the piano (piano mainly because I want to learn to read/play sheet music and everyone says piano is best for learning that).

Anyway, my taste in music is VERY eclectic. I grew up on metal, rock and hard core. I still love metal and rock. SlipKnot, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Dio, and many many others. I also really like DropKick Murphys and Flogging Molly. Mumford and Sons is simply AWESOME. Now, I also like some country, jazz, classical and many other types of music and I have quite an extensive collection.

I'm the only person I know that can take out a SlipKnot CD and put in an Enya CD and enjoy it.

So how about all you Dogs...What do you like to listen to? And do you play any instruments?

Later!

PINK FLOYD, I have been to three concerts. My first one was 1977 in Montreal, 1992 in Denver and saw Roger Walters in DC this year. When I really want to shut the world off and the wife is out, I put in some PINK FLOYD and I'm checked out.

My first concert was the Summer of 1981 when I saw Van Halen on their Fair Warning Tour. Eddie was in his prime and had something to prove, the whole band was on fire! It inspired me to start playing and I chose bass. I wish I could read better and piano will not only help you read, but help you compose music and understand rhythm and melody more.

I listen to everything but I love classic rock, and The original Bay Area Thrash and Punk scene...My Scene!! Nowadays however I prefer instrumental music. A freind of mine is a DJ that makes brutal Psy-trance and chill out music and I love both

Oh I saw Maiden on the Piece of Mind Tour with Saxon and Fast Way (featuring Fast Eddie Clark of MotorHead and on Vocals a very young Dave King of Flogging Molly...yep Dave was a "hair metal" guy but hates to admit it now...they made some OK albums though)

I am also a drummer and Metal head! \m/!

I also have a huge range in musical tastes....Testament, Pantera, Forbidden, A7X....then I can move onto Dave matthews, Phish...heck I even like Eminem...Well his music anyhow...That is the ONLY rap I can listen to.

I have opened for DRI, Ice-T, Nuclear Assault, OverKill, Deftones and a few others....I think that is why I will always be a metal head.....Though I wonder If I can still head bang when I am 80???

Dave King was vocalist for Fastway? Or was he a guest vocalist? I listened to Fastway. They were pretty good back in the day.

I also saw Maiden on their Piece of Mind tour - they were with Twisted sister and Quiet Riot here in FL.

Cool Ireash! Drummers rule! I saw DRI with Corrosion of Conformity and The Belching Penguins in Tampa. Met them also. they were great!

Nice set also. I have a smaller Ludwig set...I really want a new one.
I've never played any shows or anything but we had a band and we played all the time...Mostly Slayer, Savatage and Metallica...some others.

I used to see Savatage and Nasty Savage live all the time. They were good ole Tampa/Brandon bands.

Almost anything metal, neue deutche harde, classical, techno, classic rock, melodic rock (like Alan Parsons), some punk, a little country/pop/rap/anything else.

Pretty well rounded

As for metal, resently discovered "The Sword" and can't get enough of them, totally awesome music. If you don't already know them, check them out on youtube or something.

Yes WE DO!!

I was lucky to grow up and play in the Metal scene when it was big. Metallica had just hit it big and the whole San Francisco metal scene was born. Those were the days!!!

Heathen, Griffin, Anvil Chorus ...even Y&T were great! Too bad they went Glam and sold out with "Summer Time Girls" If they had kept the Faith and kept Leonard Haze they could have been a lot bigger in the US, BUT they decided to kiss MTV's butt

Oh and Dave King was lead vocalist for Fast Way...he had his Robert Plant/ kinda Dio influenced sound and changed it for Flogging Molly. Supposedly he gets po'd when people ask him about the old days.

Oh and don't make me mention Lethal Creed, Laaz Rocket or Mike Varney and shrapnel records.

Yaz the Spaz was the first Bay Area rocker I met when I was a kid. I saw him at a guitar store I think it was called Fats used Guitars in Berkley. I said "whats up Yaz? I saw you at the Marin Civic Center opening for Y&T!" Yaz said "Thanks man, it was a cool show"...I bragged to my friends.

Wow, that's pretty cool...Never would of guessed Dave was in Fastway. Too bad he is ashamed of it though.

I grew up in the 80's and that was the Metal age. I went from Sabbath, Priest, Maiden and the like to Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, etc...Then my hard core days with DRI, COC, and others came and then I got into the grunge like Pearl Jam and Nirvana when they came along. I still listen to all of them and I'm very happy to see metal re-emerging. Even bands like Exodus and VoiVod are playing again. Awesome!
