Used my new to me Delta belt sander, went down to 9 microns then finished with a leather belt. what do you dogs think? I polished I little higher up the blade, still thinking about going higher though.

That is beautiful. I would be afraid to boil my knife in bleach, but it really turned out nice. Maybe someday I'll get the courage to try it.

Very nice looking and that puppy looks shaving sharp.

Very nice WK! I really the way it came out. I looks razor sharp.

How long did you let it sit in the baking soda mix?

i left it in the soda for about an hour. I was thinking today i might give it a few more bleach baths, see just how far I can take the finish, worst case Dan gets to sell me another scrapivore.. that edge was so easy to put on with the belt sander I won't mind doing it over again. I kinda wonder how i got along with out one before.

I do not know of course, but I would suspect all that would happen from now on out is that you would deepen the pitting, based upon how it looks now. Put it in boiling water for a few minutes to heat up the steel and then use cold blue on it and see what happens. This would not be destructive in any way and if you don't like it you can still bleach it again.
