My biggest curiosity is if the NC milling offers advantages over grinding.
I know just enough about manufacturing and heat treating to burn my house down.
I can imagine that the milling might create a lot less heat, especially if a lubricant is pumping onto the material, but wonder if it makes any differance.
I.e., Assuming the shaping is done prior to the heat treating. I can also imagine that the milling allow much more control over the cross section profile of the material.
