I am a Camelback Motherload person for a bigger pack and a Kelty for day packs. I suggest that you go and find a place or two that have different bags and try them on to see what works for you. I have a problem with my back and certain packs don't sit well so I like trying before buying. YMMV.

Here's a very interesting pack I came across yesterday. The tarp/shelter looks pretty good also.
Read the whole description, the pack can convert to a shelter or makeshift hammock.

I have more bags than I need and I'm still tempted

anyone used the maxped vulture 2? I'm curious how well it would wear on a guy my size (I'm 6'9 , 350lbs). Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Here are a couple of mine, the one on the left is the 511 Push Pack. The one on the right is the maxped fatboy (my new FAK Bag). For those of you that have asked, maybe now you can get an idea of the size of the 511.

GD, it's not bad, but it's aluminum and I am concerned with how sturdy it will prove to be. It is there for a JUST IN CASE. The one I have in the pocket of my sheath is the Eze-lap Model M. It's brass and steel, REALLY sturdy and in rods, it's the rod that I like the best.

I think I may have found the bag that's exactly what I imagined in my head. It's more expensive than I had planned for ( a whole lot more) but it's so awesome I may just have to save up and go for it. Now that I've seen it, I don't know if I'll be satisfied with something else. Anyone heard of the Eberlestock Skycrane II ? My only questin is that their packs are so expensive, there are very few reviews out there on each one. Anyone have any experience with Eberlestock?

Jason, I think that I have heard a few dogs talk about them. You might check with Architect, sumo275 and maybe monsterdog.

Jason here is a link to a backpack thread that I found. Don't know if it will be any help or not.
