MM, on the Site's main page (where you click on Forum to go there) they list it as 1/4 inch thick.

I for one am glad the 311 is made in the that handle! I too like it much more than the proto.
However I do hope that the 411 will made in the mudder handle. I wouldn't change a thing on the 411 proto!

As for the thickness... Well, if it is sharp and the grind fits the thickness I'm good.

Rasmus, Yeah with the full flat grind, it won't be like a sabre grind. I used to think FFG blades were more fragile, but over the last couple three years I have changed my mind. I LIKE FFG blades, always have, but as I said I considered them not as strong as the sabre ground blades. Glad I found Dan's stuff!

This is an interesting twist...

It does have a better look to it. 1/4" is a problem for me, but it is a super cool knife. I am surprised to see the handle change...I would have thought if you change from the Mudders, you would go with the WarDog handle. That would make it pretty close to a Fatty B4, SYKCO style I'm sure Dan worked hard to make this one just right in hand....the Yard will eat this up!

Randy / Rasmus...the grind is listed as "Flat Saber". My bet is that it likely has a sabre flat on the blade...however, without more pics or description, it's hard to know how much.

Ishi I agree, with your thinking about the handle change. What with the Wardog handle just coming out, but I think this one does look better on this blade. Who knows, Dan might have tried the Mudder, Wardog AND this handle. Personally I think this one just flows better with the blade. But that is just my personal opinion and is only important to me.

I concur...I'm sure Dan tried them all and went with what worked best in the end.

It looks super slick. Now, I need a 5/32 LE version

Man, I am bummed about the lack of a mudder handle....I'm sure it's a great knife but i prefer the mudder handles - especially on the smaller blades. It would be interesting to hear from Dan why they made the change? I guess I'll order 2...Would have ordered 3 or 4 if they had the mudders.

I have to add one more comment...

With a flat grind...that means it could make a fantastic Stripper Mmmm....

I know that all three Companies share equipment and such, and that will contribute to the time required for Dan to get blades out to us. BUT I would also wager that Dan puts A LOT of time into prototyping, trying different grinds, thicknesses and blade profiles and heights along with handle shapes. I suspect THIS is what takes so long, the desire to get it "Just right" for us. Is it possible that Dan is a Perfectionist!
