As we have seen so far the prototypes of the 11 series have varied quite a way from the actual releases.

So my next question relates to the 611.....from the posts I have seen this offering has not received as much interest as the others.

Would you like to see the 611 released with a Basic handle or with the Regulator handle and from 1/4" stock or 3/16" ?

How would you like the 611 ?

I went with a Basic handle and 3/16".I'm of the opinion that a 6" blade is too small to really be a chopper so you might as well have one that can slice well.

I voted basic, 1/4" stock. 3/16" would also be more than ok, however.
Blade shape should be the same. Maybe a bit wider if it is 3/16", in order to give some more weight.

Yeah a wider 3/16" stock would be cool. Shaped like a SOD would be awesome...A Mini Skinny SOD ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I would be down with that! I do think Dan will nail the 611 as well!

It cries out for a regulator handle

I actually think that if the 611 was made from 3/16" stock it could well be the most useful knife of the series, maybe even the greatest knife to come out of Yard to date !!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

At 6" long the blade would be plenty long enough for battoning. As the blade would be wider than such knives as the 311,511 or even the Scrapper 5 the bevel would be higher and therefore the knife should cut better than both.
The wide stock would also add to it's lateral strength making it better at prying than knives such as the 511 and Ratmandu.

It should still be light enough for carrying on hikes and long enough to use as a weapon against wild critters should the need arise ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

1/4" regulator is the way I voted, I would go with either thickness as long as it has regulator scales. If not I'm out on this one. Same for the 911. Too many basic handles lately.

Basic and 3/16" Is the 6-11 too big for mudders? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
