Not really. Most Marines don't even own a Kabar unless they earned one. Mine is on a plaque I earned at Corporals Course for the Gung-Ho award. I have only seen a very small number of Kabars being used in the field. I am talking about the USMC Kabars. I have seen the Becker/Kabars being used.

Yes, push a button and it comes out automatic. They usually have a box full of 5-7 models of switchblade Benchmades for us to pick from before we head downrange.

Sounds nice. Can you keep them? Or do you have to check them in at the armory;)

When I flew home from VietNam I just stuck my Case Bowie down my pants and covered it with my utility shirt. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> When I was processed out I kept it in my duffel bag.

The 9-11 should be closer to the BattleRat than it is to the DogFather. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Is the Battle Rat differentially heat treated?

Haha, that happens to me all the time! I'll put something up so I'll remember where it is and then I FORGET where I put it so I wouldn't forget! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

You ARE talking about the Bowie blade, about 9 inches long, where the blade gets wider as it goes toward the point?
