Butterflies in flight, Eh?
I like that kind of ambition. Let me organize some tips for a shooting strategy for you. right where I am now, it's a big field all around me (town is only 600) and it seems we're in some kind of butterfly alley!

Funny you should use that term. There's a local place I go with my shooting buddy, and we call that place "Butterfly Alley".

Alright, tip #1, shoot 'em in the morning as soon as they start to fly. Hopefully, they'll still be a bit chilly, and thus will fly more slowly than they will, later in the day.

Tip #2: Figure out specifically which flowers in your area they prefer to nectar upon, and set yourself up at the thickest patch.

my fuji finepix 4.1 isnt up to it..

It's very possible to take nice pics with the Fuji finepix digicams. Likely you'd be able to do better with a better cam, but you can still do very well, regardless of your equipment.
Let me scrounge up an example....
