No. For that kind of cutting, I'm happy using a little folder with a blade like a razor.

One of the big problems is "refractive wobble"...

The ocean water is always moving in and out, up and down, and waves and drops of water are always causing ripples...

as the thickness of the water between ou and your subject changes, it changes the focus...

and since the water is not very flat with all of the ripples and sloshing, the focus is different in different areas throughout the picture...
