Seeing as how I am a new guy and a recent JYD I thought i would share. I like trail running, this is my inspiration. I will do this race, hopefully in the next 5 years. The end of the race is in Auburn which is about an hour East of where I live. I have run these trails many times. This is the stuff that stirs my soul and gives me a purpose in life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5Peu1GkCg0&feature=player_embedded

Maximus sure does look interested. Nobody chasing me, just want to be ready if something ever wants to.

Oh man, and us normal (Ok, lazy) folks think that a marathon is rough.

No, I would rather not. A hundred miles in a car in OK at this time of the year without A/C is bad enough. And to the knee comment, so true!

Marathons are horrific enough...I decided awhile ago my body doesn't like them...100 miles? No thanks!
Did a tough 96/98 mile bike ride once...that was pretty serious excercise. Running it? No freaking way!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Cool man! 100 miles sounds crazy long...
I "Rucked" 14 miles Friday night...carrying about 25 lbs. Just getting started in my training (hence only 25 lbs), and my feet were screaming in pain by the end. No blisters, but the "pads" of my feet were really sore...just not used to bearing weight like that for such an extended time.

LOL, my mom and sister are pretty involved in working that race. They are more involved in the Tevis cup race though. Are you trying to get an entry from the lottery?
