what caliber? I'm still seeing a few places online. never seen them locally.

That one is 7.62 x .39 with a 16 inch barrel but I'm looking for 7.62 x 54R with a 23 inch barrel. I saw some at gun shows last year for about 900. I'm sure they are much more now. The one picture is listed for $749 to start but it will probably go for twice that before it's done. These things are the mercedes of AK's from what I've read.

ive done some reading on AK's since I bough mine and the vepr gets high marks. supposed to be a heavier rpk receiver. after seeing all this an the prices of ammo I actually would love to have one in 7.62x54r. saw some ammo listed for $0.17 a round. that's a lot of value right there.

Sure is. I've got a bunch of ammo from when I bought my Mosins. Same caliber. You should pick up a Mosin if you don't have one. Lots of fun to shoot.

I tried to find some more 54R but everywhere I looked was sold out. Did you see it online?
