I saw the pumpkin G10 handle slabs on both models in the preview pics for the KC show.
I'm trying to decide which model to have my proxy pick up for me. Has anyone used the R4 and how does the handle feel? And has anyone used both of the models to give me a idea of which feels better in the hand and has the most useful blade and handle design?

My vote is for the Rodent 4, definitely more utility and the handle is great!

Even though there were some very nice variants of the R4 offered in a recent Ganza, I don't think I'd like the handle so I passed. If any are on the table at the Creek I will get a feel for the handle.

I know the Solution is comfortable. Especially my Custom Shop variant.

Hopefully someone with R4 experience will chime in. I really hope it's not an awesome handle because I'll kick myself for passing on the Ganza pieces.

I was typing as you posted.

Beyond the obvious, what are the pros and cons of the R4 handle?

My thoughts on the R4....

-Very secure when choked down for light chopping.
-Feels great choked up for finer tasks.
-Feels great in hand in the standard grip.
-Compact enough to comfortably carry.
-Weighs around 8 oz.
-Convex Saber Grind makes a lot of sense for SR-101.
-Great balance in the hand.
-More capable than Rodent Solution.
-Makes a great hunting knife.

The only reason I let it go was because it wasn't INFI, otherwise I really liked the design.

The only reason I would choose the Rodent Solutions over the R4 would be blade length restrictions...

I would like to be able to try a R4 in hand. I love the RS but I did not at all like the R9 in hand so I am hesitant about the 4.
