How do you like the 711s when it comes to versatility? Are others better like 411 or 511?

The 11 series make great companions. I would recommend that you make a short list of what you want to do with a knife and then ask these Dogs for a recommendation

if its a knife for the woodlands i would go for the 711.

You can do a lot with a 7" blade. That's about as short as I like for chopping. For just walking in the woods on well kept trails, a smaller knife is fine, even a folder. But for the really bad areas of the swamp, I'll take the 1311 (although I have yet to take it there). If I ever get over these infernal colds and flu, I plan to take Susan for a trip up the Altamaha River. I never go there without a big knife (7" blade minimum).

You've got it right, Horn Dog! 7" blade minimum for little chopping will do. My 711 is on the way. The Regulator will follow soon. Thank you!
