Everyone seems to be fond of the old Nessmuk style knife, Scrapyard makes one, Busse makes one and the Swamprat fans are begging for a Rat version. With that said I just wondered why there is no interest in a Busse-Kin Kephart ? In my humble opinion the Kephart is a more versatile blade than the Nessmuk. If I could only own one blade for the rest of my life it would probably be a Kephart style knife, they lend themselves well to bushcraft chores such as fuzz stick making, carving trap triggers or roughing out basic eating utensils. They also preform great at food prep tasks be it cutting up the veggies or slicing your steak.........so why no love ???? I think an SR101 Kephart blade would be great mated up with the larger size basic res-C handle or maybe even a Mudder. For those unfamiliar with a Kephart, this is my custom version. Picture a version from Dan with a full flat ground SR101 blade and grippy res-C handle.....now that would be a perfect all round knife !

I'd want one of those if it were choilless like your custom.

Specs on both knives please.
Also I would be in for one (or two), but I've never used a kephart what can it do that the 4-11 can not?

Being thinner stock( Same stock as the Scrapivore ) with a full height grind and no choil it would easily out perform the 411 at Bushcraft type tasks ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I just know that done right an 1/8" stock knife with full height grind carves much better than my Swamprat knives with their sabre grinds on thicker stock.I'm not sure on the technical aspects as to why but I have done quite a lot of bushcraft over the years and have just found this to be the case. A choil is also very often a hinderance when it comes to bushcrafting, that's why you never find any dedicated bushcraft blades with them on. I'll also add, scandi grind will sometimes outperform a full flat grind on certain types of wood but for a do-it-all type blade I'll take a full flat or full convexed everytime.
