Really nice picks, those butterflies look really neat!
Thanks for the kind words.
The butterflies are actually gathering nutrients like that. More can be read here on Mud puddling
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mud-puddlingamazing wildlife. what were the temperatures like out there?
Temperatures could range from 90 to 105 Fahrenheit with the humidity going nuts as well.
Great pics! Loved the one with the yellow butterflies and the praying mantis...
Thanks, I was surprised the Mantis actually turned its head for the photo <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
If you changed the colour of the dirt to a shade of red you may as well be in the far west here....!!!!! Even the vehicles and scorpions are the same... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
You mean to the East of us <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />Heading West would bring us to the Kalahari/Namibian Desert. IE, Red sand <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I had many more pictures, but alas, we had a bugler and they took the computers with most of my pictures on them.
This was just after the rain fell in the Kalahari:
And a visitor.
Andy.....at least we here in the South have good taste in vehicles <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
