Please visit the following thread at Blade Forums to express your interest in purchasing handle scales for your Scrapivore(s). The maker (Bpiatt) needs at least 30 people interested before he can get the green light to do a production run for these. There's already about a couple dozen people who've expressed interest, I believe he just needs a few more people to express interest in order make this happen...... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/2weeks.gif" alt="" /> http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showth...Yard-ScrapivoreIf you were not aware already, Bpiatt has been making scales for the SRKW Swamp Warden's using both micarta and G-10. Here's a link to a thread started by Hooker showing his Warden scales..... http://www.scrapyardknives.com/ubbt...umber=652470&an=0&page=0

I could be interested in some, but what do you guys think, should they be beveled in a way to allow the pry function. Or cover up the end for more handle comfort. I would keep them fairly thin, as to remain low profile.

I believe the chisel ground butt should be left uncovered, mainly so I could use as a firesteel striker. I'd also like the scales to be pretty thin, but we will see what Ben is thinking.....

In your experience, is the end sharp enough to use with a ferro rod?

I would leave a little bit exposed for the pry bar function or if a person wanted to strip the end for a striker. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with, I may need to get another Scrapivore!

In your experience, is the end sharp enough to use with a ferro rod? You have to remove the coating on that edge then test with a ferro rod to know if yours will work. If it is not sharp enough you must sharpen the chisel grind in the same way you would a scandi grind by laying that bevel on your stone/sharpener.
