That's disappointing.
I have been wondering this myself. I was thinking maybe when I beat the coating all the way off my 1311 I could get the busse custom shop to recoat it

not 100% on this but i think scrapyard will recoat the blade as well as sharpen knives for you. I think that and also repair/replace damaged handles. basically they will get the knife back close to factory fresh. but only back to the way t was when it left the factory. so black knives stay black, tan stays tan, etc....

So (IF) they do sharpen them, I wonder if the yard would put a different grind on the blade if you asked or would the yard use the original grind from said design? Im sure if I called I could find out but Im trying to get my post up so I figured I'd turn to here first.

I just sent my dereg and Yh in for new handles (my pit thinks Res-c is Delish, Dan!). And my dereg came back with the ding in the cutting edge removed and the edge totally trued up. I was thrilled when I discovered that during unboxing . Didn't ask for a recoating on my dereg, but I intentionally stripped and patinaed it.

What kind of custom work do you want?
