Just took a short trip to Italy, and went to see this awesome result of erosion.
The area is called Zone di Piramidi, near the town of Zone. It is a good hike, and the scenery is amazing.
Somehow the surrounding mountains make the rain in the area fall straight town, and then wash away the gravel, except under these huge boulders. If ever in the area around Lake Como or Lake Garda, go see this. Is is situated near the lesser known lake, called Lake Iseo.

I visited the place 22 years ago, and was curious to see if the pillars had changed or collapsed. But the place was just as amazing as it was 22 years ago.
