Do you have the Rock Lobster too? One of my favorite folders.

Nope- I only have a few folders right now. My dad got a Zulu and I loved it. To me it makes sense...I hold it more towards my fingers and the grip is perfect. That sweepy blade is actually handy! It gets a big thumbs up from me!

A few more of my favorite folders. A trio of fighters designed by James Williams and sold by CRKT.

Heiho
Hissatsu
Otanashi Noh Ken
Swamp Warden for scale

Nice!

Good to see someone familiar scored one of Les's little creations. By the time I opened the e-mail and linked-through to the site they were GONE!

Also, we have similar interest in knives...I have offerings from every maker you presented in that photo.

Got pretty lucky, they lasted less than 10 minutes I heard.

Great minds think alike.

I'll have to give it too the XM right know, has the best handle and the flipper option. If I wanted to pry open anything with girth it would be the ESV or Dua.

Very nice lineup Luck. What is the third one from the top a greyman?

Ray sorry I missed yours nice japanese lineup. I have been intrigued by that blade shape for a while now how are you liking it?

Yeah, Grayman Dua. It's a beefy one.

I have liked Japanese style blades for years and I have used the Hissatsu (middle one) for over a year now. The blade is not designed for regular EDC tasks of course. The tip is too thin and narrow. It is excellent for what it is designed for though. I have no need for a fighter these days but I still like the style and do use it for some EDC tasks. BTW, the tip has only bitten me twice in all that time. grin I have recently picked up the Otanashi Noh Ken and, because of the bigger handle and blade, it may become my favorite of the three.

Nice steel guys! Such a pity about our stupid import laws. The secondary marker here is just nuts! $380 (our dollars) for a vanilla Griptillian... Nuts I say!
Luckily it has stirred the dust some and a few local makers are stepping up. In a month or two I should be getting custom flipper!

Any Strider folks around? My cousin has me looking at a SnG...it's a lot of money, but he loves his and I was surprised by how nice it felt!

I have a couple of Striders, SnG included. It's a nice knife, and plenty rugged. I only have 2 complaints, the non lock side is all g-10, which isn't as strong as a liner'd g-10 or Ti. I also prefer a flipper or thumb stud vs the hole. If you can get a direct Hinderer, it is less money, and that would be my recommendation.

I carried an SMF for awhile...bought it because of the positive reviews and not the negatives. However...I later acquired a Hinderer...fast forward a little bit (about 2 years) and I now still have only the one Strider but several Hinderers.

On its own merit, without any hype or comparison to other knives, the Strider is a beefy knife that feels good in the hand...sometimes not great over time / use, but good.

I bought and still own just one with no others planned in the future. It's kinda like a Sebenza, every folding-knife user should experience one for themselves and form their own conclusions.
