My one brother has a modern Kentucky long rifle in 50 cal, that stock design throws all the recoil into your face
I am not a fan of that design
My other brother has one of those modern online models
Nice rifle but hardly black powder

Klink, I wish I would have got a Cowboy when the getting was good. Like you, I can't justify the prices they are bringing this day and time.

As to BP, T/C makes some good guns. I have had a few in the past but these days I am into the real primitive rock sparkers!

I have an 1895 cowboy and a stainless with laminate grey stock guide gun. The cowboy is nice but I honestly don't shoot it much. Just doesn't get the same love.

Somehow my dad convinced me to load up some hotter loads for the 1895. 405 grains needs to be loved with cowboy loads...oh my tiny aching shoulder!

I stopped by our WalMart yesterday, and although they didn't have any .22's on hand or on the truck, they DID have a good variety of other ammo. I saw everythiing from .22-.250 to .300 magnums, even several boxes of .308. Good variety of pistol as well. wink
