The Elitist (w/ the headstock that has sharp corners) - low smooth action, long neck tenon (better contact between neck and body - like the vintage Gibsons were - and better than the current Gibsons), niiiice electronics and hardware (all Gibson USA made in the USA components - the other is OEM in Korea), one piece neck (vs. 2 or 3 on the other), African Mahogany and Maple (vs. cheaper wood on the other), real bone nut (where strings touch at the top of the neck) and abalone and mother of pearl inlays (nut/inlays are plastic on the other, and on the low end Gibsons as well), and its a little heavier - I love a heavy Les Paul!

Duncan Distortion on the regular Epi in the bridge. The Elitist come w/ pickups made for the Elitist line by Gibson here in the USA - they're essentially '57 Classics (they sound identical - and are virtually identical - is what Gibson has said).

So, do you play the LP custom, also, or just the preferred Elitist?

I drag the Custom out on occasion - but the Elitist is what I play all the time. Its sooooo nice! I have 14-15 guitars from the past 10 years or so... and I only play one!

Thats terrible!

The regular Custom is what I played for the last 4 years or so until about 6 months ago. Its got hundreds of hours of play time so far - and has aged beautifully (it used to be white like the Elitist when it was new). It'll end up on the wall in my "office" whenever I finally get done w/ school and get a house!!
