I have a single six convertible that I have owned for over 20 years and there awesome. I also have a bull barrel Mark II and it is also awesome. They are both very accurate. I keep both around because they serve different purposes for me. The SS is great for loading 22 cb caps for killing golphers , snakes etc around the house. It quite versatile with with all the ammo choices and has a great trigger. The mark II is good auto practice so save on ammo when not shooting my Glocks. Either would be fine for hunting, but the mark II would be better in a gun fight. There is no one gun like there is no one knife.

True. I'm not planning on fighting with it. That's what a g22 is for

That would be the one. It's a great shooting pistol. It's as accurate as I am and then some.

Looks better than rugers double action 22lr. Wonder what the difference in MSRP vs gun shop price would be.

I don't know, but I did handle a Ruger SP101 in .22 the other day and I REALLY liked it. It was priced around $500, and I think it may just end up coming home with me sometime soon.

See for the revolvers that only shoot 22lr and shorts I have a hard time getting that over a mkIII or 22/45 but I'm not sure yet

I have a Single Six. Love it! I can run shorts in it if I don't want to attract too much attention. Just a nice gun. All my Ruger revolvers are--3 Blackhawks of varying size.
Also have a 22/45 with a threaded barrel. Someday, I may supress it but not right now. If you get one, buy the Tandemkross bushing and LCI replacement parts. The gun will perform much better and it'll only run ya about 20bucks. I put cocobolo burl grips on mine from a Puerto Rican maker on ebsy. Beautiful. Mine came with fixed rear sights that I replaced with an adjustable one. I can now throw whatever I wsnt on it--fiber optics, ghost ring, etc. I also have a rail for it should I decide to throw a red dot on it. Point is there are tons of 22/45 models to meet your needs and they are customizable. Also great for if you intend to get a 1911 since the 22/45 config is based on the 1911.
Bug out? get a 22!45 lite and buy a supressor. Fiber optis, theaded barrel, and fluted to keep weight down.

Less to go wrong on the Single Six. Like I said though, if yoiu get the 22/45, get the Tandemkross internals, that will help simplify it more and make it eaSier to take down.

Kanewolf will do a mod for you for 12 buck that will allow you to use the slingShot method to reload on the 22/45.

I've got a Buckmark with the 8 inch (?) barrel and I am just not happy with it.
