Running it and then checking immediately will have a noticeable impact on the measurement!

Good! Those guys just want to sell me their expensive "high mileage vehicle" oil. I KNEW it!

It just didn't make any sense to me, mathematically!

If I were to be burning 2 quarts of oil (off stick) in 3k miles, I'd be seeing blue smoke, right??

Unfortunately no, you might not see blue smoke.

Not even on startup?

Back to knives... I go through obsession phases w/ my steel, as is common, I'm sure Today I put my little Swamp Warden on my belt via Tek Lok... I love it! The whole rig weighs practically nothing. The TAK and DM are also in my hands a lot today...

I'd also like to mention that of all of my kydex/concealex rigs, my J33ps sheath is the one that is of nicest construction... Great work, Ron!

Oil only on startup shows a problem with valve stem seals. If they are worn out they will let oil seek into the intake when the veh is stopped. Then when you start you get the blue smoke as a puff when there is that first big volume of oil sucked into the engine.

I know it!!

I will - WILL - get the following blades when released, regardless of if I "want" to. Scrap Warden, Urban Mutt, Rat Cutlery RC4, Dog Father CG Re-Release, other Scrapper EDC.

Its a short list, but its infallible and I will have no choice...

Why was my wife giving me crap about buying knives when it's been over a week darn it. Man, I wish my wife had a hobby like shopping or something. I have nothing to give her grief about, she buys nothing.

I asked her what she wanted for Christmas she said nothing, we need to save the money for the kids. Darn man. She is too responsible, it kills me.
