I'd give the 1111 a serious look. I wish I could justify getting one to try out, but I can't.

I didn't bring axes or hatches into the mix on purpose--different beast altogether. But I DO have a Killdevil Hills Sniper Hawk and I LOVE it. If I can find the files and load them up, I did a chop off between the KDHSH and DF on an apple tree. The KDHSH was somewhat dull from being thrown all morning, but IIRC, they both did about the same, meaning I suspect the hawk would probably have bested the DF if it were brought up to speed. Still, chopping through a 4-5" limb, the DF remained shaving sharp and the Hawk hadn't grown duller.
