I scraped my Mothers uterus on the way out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />
I was born with a Case pocket knife in my hand. The Doctors were astounded and baffled as to how it could have happened.Mom was just sore and pissed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
I had so many pocket knives taken away from me in my youth I could put half the population of England in jail with the amount of blades Mom took away from me.
I'd steal a few bucks from the cookie jar,Dads coin bottle, or return Coke bottles for the deposit money and go right back to Ace Hardware and buy another pocket knife. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
I don't know why I kept leaving them in my pants pocket. I knew the woman did my laundry three times a day. She found every thing I ever hid from her.
I remember my epiphany. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

I finally asked her one day when I was I believe 8 years old. Mom, I said.. You keep taking these knives away from me. Why?
She told me that's a silly question, you'll cut yourself or worse hurt someone of your friends. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />
I explained we all had knives and used them every day exploring our neighborhood and just for fruit and general use. I noted that I had never been cut or asked for a band aid.
She relented and let me pick one. She had saved EVERY knife she took from me, intending to give them back when I was more responsible.
I love my mom. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I picked a Mother of Pearl Case Trapper I had always liked. Most expensive too.
I found the Yard in early December of 2006 while looking for a new Christmas blade for myself. Needless to say there were none for sale. So I lurked for a really long time.Laughing and learning form all the posters.
Finally I gave in and broke my silence, and since then you have all had to put up with rambling posts like this one.

Thanks for putting up with me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

By the way Lupa, welcome to The Yard. Home for the steel hearted.

Peace.
Dave
