I was always interested in knives, but I never collected them. For decades, all I had was a Buck 110. (I still have that knife, by the way.) Then for reasons I don't really remember, I started bumming around on some of the knife forums. Eventually I made my way to Bladeforums and from there to Cliff Stamp's web site. Of course, if you know anything about Cliff Stamp, you know he likes Busse family knives.
I found Swamp Rat via Cliff and started checking out the Battle Rat, Camp Tramp and Howling Rat. Then the Jeep story showed up on Bladeforums and that did it. I KNEW I had to have a Camp Tramp! Of course I couldn't get just one Swamp Rat knife. My next purchase was a Howling Rat. That led to catching the INFI bug. So I took a deep breath and bought a straight-handled Satin Jack CG from Skunk. Other interests led me away from knife collecting after that, so that was the extent of my collection for awhile.
When I decided to get back into it, I went to the usual sites and the buzz was circulating about Scrap Yard. One look at what Dan was offering and I was hooked. It was like visiting Swamp Rat during the good old days all over again.
I don't know how long my interest in knife collecting will last this time around. Nothing's ever permanent with me . . . except my marriage (going on 32 years now). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
