You can always pick up some cheap kitchen knives at Goodwill or a garage sale or something to practice on. Once you can get crappy steel sharp, sharpening quality steel is easy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

In grade school I once picked up half a dozen Henkels blades from a swap meet for CHEAP!
started thowing them.. and broke like half the blades..
what a shame.. they were nice too.
