Of the various Benchmade fixed blades I've always wanted a Nimvarus. I'm a big Allen Elishewitz fan but could never convince myself to let go of the cash for one of his customs. That is probably another one of my mistakes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />


I like the Nimravus. Pretty nice design... not big on the over-complicated sheath, but the knife design is good. Another much lesser known knife designed by Allen was produced by Byron Knives. It came with a 4.375" blade or a 5.875" blade. Both are called "Lightning Strike". Both are great designs and feel great in the hand. I probably prefer the 4.375", but I have both. (*I don't know why the picture says 5.375". It is wrong, I measured. They are 4.375" & 5.875" if measured from tip to scales).

The handle scales were redone and can be found in about 2-3 flavors.
