Apparently there is suppose to be a new model released very soon. We really don't know what this knife will be, however it should be a pretty good performer if past events are any indication of what the future holds.

Scrapyard, Swamp Rat, and Busse are all made in the same shop. So you have three companies trying to use the same equipment. In addition all three companies have contracts with the military from time to time so that also eats into production.

I don't hink anybody will disagree with you about availabiltiy. It can certainly be frustrating. However, there are some advantages to this type of business practice. There is a great secondary market for these knives because demand outpaces production.
