The Brute also had an "anvil" on the spine for batoning. When Camillus went under, I had two BK-1 Brutes on order. Of course, that order never got filled. I was able to score one BK-71 Combat Utility (desert color), 4 BK-2 Companions, and 2 BK-10 Crewman Utility knives before everything sold out. Last month, I got a gently used Brute off of the Bladeforums Exchange; I paid about $30 more than the ones I'd had on order would have cost, but far less than I've seen them go for on "that auction site".

The Brute is a VERY nice knife, I don't have a Dog Father to compare it to, but that's the size class -- it was almost like a tactical cross between a straight blade and a small khukri. The only minor complaint I had with the the Camillus Beckers was that the handles were bigger than I found comfortable, but they were manageable. Good to hear that they're coming back.
