Great set Vic - you said you like the BK9 better? It looks beefier than the Brute - how much thinner is it?
Can you reprofile the micarta to make it fit the sheath?
The micarta is actually thinner than the plastic, so it doesn't fit the kydex snugly. I like the Bk-9 Combat Bowie because it chops better that the Brute. It is 3/16" thick and the Brute is 1/4" thick. The grind on the Bowie just seems to work better for me.
Unsub: I ground sharpened swedges on both the 7 and the 9 during the "Dumpster Mutt Leads to Madness" frenzy. I love my Beckers. They caught some hard use until the Scrapyards came along.
