Recurves rule!

I saw a great show on pygmy hunters in central africa and they had some neat knives and spears. The show was about a organization that checked to see if they had abandoned their traditional hunting practices so they showed lots of trapping and spearing. There was one really good part where the hunter had a wild boar in his trap and it would be able to break free in a couple of minutes so he had to act fast. His spear had a 7 to 9 inch chunk of machete steel on the end and it buckled the first hard jab and he quickly straightened it and finished off the boar. I would hate to have to fight that boar with just a pointy wood end.

Maybe it would not make sense for a survival application but a knife like a bushman or even car keys would make a great spear end.
