all i can say is be careful of the ones where the blades don't lock.
The most used tools on my Leatherman are: flathead screwdriver, philips drivers, pliers, and can opener (for coffee cans).

I have one in every car, and in my desk at work.

For cutting.. i prefer my trusty Spyderco always clipped in my pants.. just faster to deploy/put back.
