So multitools... I've a got a Kershaw locking plier one (rubbish give it a miss). Leatherman Wave from about 4 years ago, that's not too bad but the saws are a 'factory replace' when they go dull and I wonder how strong the pliers cutting surfaces are so I have some doubts (also the handles kind of flex under pressure cutting, I think there is a newer model out which may be better). I have a Leatherman PST mark 1 somewhere but that is kind of bust up a bit, so give them a miss! Next up is my Gerber Evo 650 with removable carbide cutting surfaces on the pliers and clip in saw blades; superb piece of kit! IF the pliers break just unclip them and chuck them away then fit a spare set.. If the cutters go dull just rotate them to a sharp bit! Never had any trouble with it. I've also got a Gerber Legend, similar to the Evo 650 but aluminium not steel handles and no can opener, still very good though. Swiss Champs are good over here as the Police don't mind them..
To sum up; get a Gerber Evo 650 with the (optional) needle-nose carbide cutter pliers! Also keep a S6 or DF handy for big jobs! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
