Welcome to the Yard.

There are plenty of gents out there who could make you a quality piggy back setup. I have seen some great looking setups make by folks on this forum.

My personal preference is to carry blades seperately for hiking purposes. I like to carry a 4" type blade on my hip and a larger knife/machete in my pack. The spec-ops nylon works great for me and I usually keep that puppy mounted either on my gear or in my pack. A smaller blade I keep on my hip, usually in Kydex just because I have that available to me and I know that if I ditch my pack, I still have a knife on me.

Here is an example of my daily carry/hiking gear setups. That's a HRLM in kydex.

If I have a vest on, I might use a nylon setup to mount to it like this.

More likely I would keep the larger blade in my pack and just roll out with a smaller knife on my belt and a Victorinox in my pocket of course. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Good luck with your choice. I don't think there is a wrong decision here, just personal preference.
