The "OT" is the "off topic" warning - if you see that - it means that there will be NO relevance to Scrapyard in the post!
Yes, I did understand that before posting. However, I've seen several threads here on this forum that were on topic, but were considered 'touchy' for whatever reason, get squashed. For there to be such a blatantly off-topic, and controversial to boot, topic posted (instead of going to PM where it belongs) made me bring it's relevance to light. Whether or not it has a 'OT' in the title, it's still against the rules, no?
Each thread is assessed. If you have concerns about a specific thread you can either use the report a post button or send a PM to myself or Private Klink.
The Yard is extremely unique in the types of posts that show up. There is nothing controversial about the initial post as it is simply a question about history. The responses that may follow could pose a problem, however this is a case where we are willing to see where it first starts to go. It could however lead to some interesting bits of historical information being shared here.
On the flip side of the coin, hijacking a thread to argue about the relevance when the moderators are around is questionable.
