I saw a scrapper 6 pounded through a thick metal pipe with a 3 pound hammer, with thick CHIPS (not just dents) and tears in the edge (and people talk about microfractures! pshh!) so...
I really do doubt some corrosion would effect the blade rconseed.
you might get some corrosion on your blade after use in maybe a wet climate or something.
and it can be a "problem" but really it's not going to effect performance, (unless it's on the edge maybe... which if it is you can just sharpen it off) although I'm sure anyone would want to take care of it if they knew about it.
