sounds like it would work, although I don't mind the sandpaper/mousepad. technique (and I'm not even that great at it... although I'm getting better.)
I like being able to throw a 4" piece of wet and dry in my pocket and knowing I can get my knives sharp if I have to. (anywhere)
but I would like I said it seems like a great way to do it. (or to just set the edge how you want it, or get it nice and sharp before a camping trip or something.
