This was the wood that I had.

It is a 2x4 made from fatwood.

You can see the sap impregnated in the wood.

Here's the edge of the YKLE. As you can see I got most of it out.

40 chops later.

I did it again and still the edge did not dent. WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE DENTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> (where that party/ dancing smiley when you need it?)

I even went to the old Noss style batoning wood. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

No edge damage.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

Even got a nice pile of smaller fatwood sticks.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

And a pile of larger sized sticks.

[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]

No edge damage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

As you can guess, I'm gonna set the pile of little sticks on fire. Hehehe...

I used nothing but what I had, no cotton balls, no magnesium. Just fatwood and a flint striker.

Got it going. Yay, fire with fatwood.

They YKLE felt like taking a nice warm bath in the fire. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Although, the Dog came out a little black. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Well the fire was starting go down, and I wanted to take some pictures to show the steam coming from the fatwood.

Awesome stuff! I thought I would put out the fire but I had another oblong piece of fat wood that needed to be burned, so I placed it in the fire.

All in all, the YKLE came through for me. It got a good nice fire going for quite a good while. I'm really happy with the little knife.

Ok I lied, I'm extremely happy with the YKLE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
