Darn, KnifeGuy. Well that was my best excuse and justification. THe BRKT machetes are really expensive for machetes. I have always said that nothing beats a cheap machete for machete work. I just wanted a pretty one to hang on the wall. Or maybe impress my friends. I would like a Scrap Yard Golok, though.
Again, no right or wrong just different opinions.
Since you have plenty of beaters and use them so much, you have a higher appreciation for the finer details of a beater tool. You may very well appreciate the added details of a Bark River machete. But, the main differentiating "Functional" difference is the edge - and you in particular would put that same edge on your beaters.
But, if you want a pretty one with a nice sheath or a wall-hanger .... there you go.
I would be interested in a Scrap Yard Golok as well. But, based on comments from Dan, I wouldn't hold my breath for one. I have said before, I think "YOU" would be impressed by the Bark River Golok and not likely have any regrets in 1095.
