I got my golok yesterday and it is thicker than the original and doesn't seem to be as finely finished(meaning the grind on the blade, not fit and finish) I don't know how to explain it but the new one is like a Volvo(boxy) and the old ones were like Ferraris(curvy). I'm sure it will chop well as it feels more substantial than the old ones, but not as pretty.
