I seem to getting swayed by thinner stock knives just lately and keep thinking how cool it would be if Dan could make a nice thin stock Bushcraft or Nessmuk blade !!!
Does anyone else feel the same way ?
The problem I see is look at the feeding frenzy that some people showed when Horndog broke the tip on his knife.
On that thread I expressed concerns that I did not want to see SYK's get pingeoned holed into the "indestructible" knife company. I would love to see SYK's to offer different style of knives including thinner blades, HOWEVER I think to be fair, if they do that then we must be reasonable in our expectations of the blade.
I don't know Dan personally, however from this forum I think he is a man of integrity and is proud of his company (rightly so I think)it must have hurt him when he saw some of the comments posted about that knife failure and I could understand if he said never again.
These smaller companies live and die by their reputation and while I am sure Dan is man enough to place the proper amount of weight to that critisism, I can see why he may want to not risk a repeat
