Doesn't really matter, if it came down to it it's all backed up on the server anyways. Like emails, posts never really go away.
Don't believe that, when my wife and I got sued over some postings on an internet forum we could not get any info from the forums master.
As soon as the lawyer contacted the forum host they closed down the site and deleted all posts
